Just got back from seeing Miyazaki’s directorial debut! It was great to see it on the big screen and see the extras at the beginning and end. I will say though, I much prefer the Manga Dub to the original Streamline dub that they showed tonight, but still awesome either way.
[New note: For those who may be interested, a Japanese with English subtitles release was released a few days prior. These were one day limited engagements. Aside from the voice differences, Lupin was named “Wolf” in the Streamline dub, because of the Maurice LeBlanc estate who owns the rights to the Lupin name. This has been a point of contention in the history of the Lupin III anime for a long time. Also the pronunciation of Cagliostro as “Cag-liostro”, which was a flub line the first line he says it! Dubs have come a long way since then.]
